1. Overview & Core Commitment

PDF Scanner ("the Application") is developed by BurnJet as a local, offline document scanning and PDF creation tool. We believe your sensitive documents, financial receipts, contracts, and notes belong exclusively to you.

2. Data Collection and Transmission

• Zero Personal Data Collection: We do not collect, transmit, track, or monitor your personal identity, device IDs, location, or usage habits.
• Local Storage: Captured photos, cropped document pages, OCR text recognition results, and SQLite database records are stored locally within the application's private device storage.
• No Cloud Servers: The application does not provide external cloud synchronization, automated cloud backup, or remote document storage.

3. Device Permissions & Hardware Usage

• Camera (android.permission.CAMERA): Used exclusively to capture document images inside the scanning viewfinder. Camera data is processed on-device and is not transmitted by the application.
• Storage / Media: Used only when the user manually chooses to import existing PDF files or images from the device.
• Biometrics: Android's local BiometricPrompt API may be used for optional app-lock security. Cryptographic keys are protected using the Android Keystore.

4. Third-Party Services & Advertising

The Application does not currently display advertisements and does not use Google AdMob or other advertising SDKs. The Application also does not intentionally include third-party tracking or analytics SDKs.

Optical Character Recognition (OCR) is performed on-device using an offline-capable OCR implementation. Document images and extracted text are processed locally and are not transmitted to BurnJet servers.

5. Data Security

PDF Scanner is designed to process and store scanned documents locally on the user's device. The application does not transmit scanned documents to BurnJet servers.

Where app-lock functionality is enabled, authentication is handled through Android's supported biometric security mechanisms, and cryptographic keys are protected using the Android Keystore.

Users should also use their device's built-in security features, such as a screen lock, to protect locally stored documents.

6. User Data Retention & Deletion

PDF Scanner stores scanned documents and related information locally on the user's device. BurnJet does not maintain remote copies of these documents.

Users can delete documents from within the Application. When a document is deleted, the Application removes the associated locally stored document data according to its implemented deletion process.
