1. Overview
BurnJet PDF Scanner ("the app") turns paper documents into PDFs using your phone's camera. It is built to work entirely on your device:
- no account or sign-in;
- no advertising;
- no analytics, tracking or crash-reporting tools;
- no internet permission (the app cannot connect to the internet on its own).
Your scans, PDFs and recognised text stay on your phone unless you choose to share or save them somewhere else.
2. Information we collect
We do not collect any personal data. BurnJet has no servers that receive data from the app, and we never see your documents, photos, text or settings.
Everything the app creates is stored only on your device, in the app's private storage:

Your documents are excluded from Android cloud backup and from device-to-device transfer, so they are not copied to Google Drive or another phone by the system.
3. Permissions

Photos and files you choose are imported through Android's system photo picker and file picker. The app sees only the items you select. It does not request storage, media, location, contacts, microphone or any other sensitive permission.
4. Text recognition (OCR)
Text recognition uses Google ML Kit models that are built into the app. Recognition runs on your device; page images and recognised text are not sent to BurnJet, to Google or to any server. Because the app has no internet permission, ML Kit cannot transmit anything from the app.
5. Sharing, saving and printing
A document leaves the app only when you choose to:
- Share it (for example to email, a messaging app or cloud storage);
- Save it to your device in a folder you pick;
- Print it;
- save its pages as images in a folder you pick.
The app gives the app you choose temporary, read-only access to that one file only. What happens next is controlled by that app and its own privacy policy.
Links inside the app (such as this policy or open-source licenses) open in your web browser. The browser, not the app, loads those pages.
6. Third-party services and advertising
- No advertising: the app does not show ads and does not use advertising IDs or advertising SDKs (such as Google AdMob).
- No analytics or tracking: the app contains no analytics, tracking, profiling or crash-reporting SDKs.
- No selling or sharing of data: we cannot sell or share your data, because we never receive it.
The app includes open-source components (listed in the app under Settings → Open-source licenses). They run on your device and do not send data anywhere.
7. Data security
- Your documents are kept in Android's app-private storage, which other apps cannot read.
- Files are shared only through per-file, temporary, read-only permissions when you choose to share them.
- We recommend using your phone's screen lock to protect everything stored on your device.
8. Data retention and deletion
You are in full control of your data:
- Documents stay on your device until you delete them.
- Delete moves a document to Deleted Items. Items there are removed permanently after 30 days, or immediately when you choose Delete permanently.
- Temporary files created while processing are deleted automatically.
- Uninstalling the app permanently deletes all of its data from your device.
Because we do not hold any of your data, there is nothing for us to delete on a server, and no account to close.
9. Your rights
Data protection laws (such as the GDPR and India's DPDP Act) give you rights to access, correct and delete your personal data. Since BurnJet does not collect or store your personal data, you exercise these rights directly in the app: view, edit and delete your documents at any time. If you have a question about your data, contact us (section 12).
10. Children
The app is a general productivity tool. It is not directed at children and does not collect personal data from anyone, including children.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change how the app handles data (for example, if a future version adds a feature that needs internet access or advertising), we will update this policy before the change takes effect. The new version will be published on this page with a new effective date and shown in the app.
