How to Play

  • 1.Memorize the highlighted target nodes during the 2.5-second initial phase.
  • 2.Keep your eyes locked on them as all nodes orbit and cross paths at high speed.
  • 3.When motion freezes, click or tap the exact nodes you tracked.

Cognitive Science & Neuroplasticity

How Orbit Mind Strengthens Brain Function

Improves multiple-object tracking (MOT), sustained visual attention, and spatial working memory. Daily gameplay builds synaptic connections through targeted neuro-motor engagement and executive function repetition.

What Is Orbit Mind?

Orbit Mind is an original Multiple Object Tracking (MOT) visual attention and working memory game.

At the start of each round, designated target nodes are marked with bright pulsing halos. The markers then dissolve and all nodes begin rapid, intersecting orbital motion around celestial gravitational centers.

When the motion freezes, players must tap the exact nodes they tracked. As difficulty increases, nodes accelerate, orbital planes cross, and decoy crossings challenge sustained attention.

How to Play Orbit Mind

  1. 1Stage 1 (Highlight Phase): Memorize the highlighted target nodes (1 to 4 nodes depending on difficulty).
  2. 2Stage 2 (Orbit Phase): Maintain continuous visual tracking as all nodes orbit, weave past each other, and cross paths.
  3. 3Stage 3 (Selection Phase): When motion freezes, click or tap the nodes you tracked.
  4. 4Select all correct targets to score points and advance your streak combo.

Difficulty Levels (Easy, Medium, Hard, Expert)

Easy

4 total orbiting nodes with 1 target to track at gentle orbital speeds.

Medium

6 total nodes with 2 targets to track across intersecting elliptical paths.

Hard

8 total nodes with 3 targets to track at high speed with dual gravitational centers.

Expert

10 total nodes with 4 targets to track with erratic orbital accelerations.

Skills Practiced During Gameplay

Multiple Object Tracking (MOT): Splitting attentional focus across multiple concurrently moving visual stimuli.
Sustained Attention: Resisting visual distractions and smooth-pursuit tracking fatigue.
Visual Working Memory: Retaining identity markers across crossing trajectory paths.
Spatial Trajectory Filtering: Ignoring decoy nodes weaving through tracking paths.

Tips & Strategies for High Scores

  • Soften your gaze to the center: Instead of darting your eyes between nodes, widen your field of view to track the target cluster simultaneously.
  • Form an imaginary polygon: Connect the target nodes in your mind into an imaginary triangle or line that deforms as they move.
  • Do not blink during path crossings: The critical moment for tracking errors occurs when two nodes cross at close proximity.

Why Orbit Mind Is Challenging

Human visual working memory typically maxes out at tracking 3 to 4 independent moving objects simultaneously. Orbit Mind pushes this biological boundary with high-speed crossings and identical decoy appearances.

Who Can Play

Athletes, esports competitors, drivers, pilots, and anyone seeking to sharpen their visual tracking agility and peripheral awareness.

Important Cognitive Disclaimer:

Orbit Mind is an original recreational visual puzzle and brain-training game created to exercise pattern recognition, working memory, and spatial reasoning. It is not an accredited medical, psychiatric, or standardized IQ assessment. Scores reflect in-game performance, speed, and practice.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Orbit Mind?

Orbit Mind is a visual attention game based on Multiple Object Tracking (MOT). You track designated target nodes as they orbit on chaotic intersecting paths, then identify them when movement stops.

How many objects can I track at once?

The game scales from 1 target on Easy up to 4 simultaneous targets on Expert difficulty.

Why is Multiple Object Tracking important?

MOT exercises the dorsal visual stream and parietal cortex, which are essential for real-world tasks like driving in traffic, playing sports, and monitoring multiple visual feeds.

Is Orbit Mind an IQ test?

No. Orbit Mind is a recreational cognitive game and not a clinical IQ assessment.

Can I play Orbit Mind on a smartphone?

Yes, the canvas automatically scales to mobile viewports, allowing you to tap target nodes directly on your touchscreen.
